Greed Will Destroy Us

As this presidential election nears, and I get increasingly more and more frustrated with the advertising, and the constant Facebook posts with everyone bickering – I think I can say with honesty, it really doesn’t matter anymore.  Corporatism and corporate greed have already destroyed this country.  The saddest reality in all of this is for those who control our destiny, this is just one big sick game.

Both Romney and Obama are stooges of the 1%.  You can bet the both of them are bought and paid for just like the advertisements they run on television.  The only difference is that MAYBE if Obama wins he will be slightly nicer to the “middle class” family in America, which apparently Romney believes is a household that makes between $150,000 and $250,000 per year.  That alone is one of the most retarded statements I’ve ever heard.  One has to be completely disconnected from reality to even say something so stupid.  At least Barack and Michelle Obama can probably remember what it was like to live in the hood, when their parents struggled earning what was probably $20,000 per year.

I was talking with one of my friends at lunchtime, and I had said, you know – picture this…  Minimum wage is something like $7.25.  Lets do this math.  Someone who works at say Wal Mart full time probably makes about $7.50 an hour.  So if you worked full time, your gross pay is $300 a week.  This is $15,600 a year.  How can Mitt Romney campaign on tax cuts for the rich when the majority of Americans earn pay like this?  Gasoline is over $4 a gallon.  Does it even make sense to drive to a job that pays $7.50 an hour?

So Mitt Romney has the balls to say he doesn’t care about the 47% of America that expects a handout.  Mitt, my friend – look at the math I’ve written about in this article.  Like Bill Clinton said, “Its Mathematics”.  If corporations don’t want to pay a wage that people can live on, they may as well stay at home.  If the large corporations don’t want to pay wages that America can live on, or they don’t want to invest in jobs for Americans, maybe the government needs to step in.

Giving tax cuts to the highest earners in America will not create jobs.  It will only buy another boat, or a new car.  America needs jobs, and good paying jobs.  Don’t under estimate the work ethic of the American citizen.  Americans will work damn hard, but they need the opportunity.
